Entry Description

The series is about the remnants of the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan and the people still suffering from its effects. It shows an old bathroom floor (image 1), and a man's fishing boat (image 2), destroyed by the storm in Tanauan, Leyte. The poorest residents are still living in transitional make-shift houses 3 years later (image 3), while promised homes from the government still lay unfinished (image 4). All the while reclaimed land at the coasts prone to future storm surges started being re-populated with urban poor communities due to lack of jobs and resources in these transitional housing areas. The government surely took notice, and labeled their new houses at the coast with numbers as a sign of their pending demolition (image 5).
