WHEN THE TIDE IS LOW Typhoon Haiyan, known as Super Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, was one of the most intense tropical cyclones on record. On making landfall, Haiyan devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines. It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,300 people in that country alone. One of the first areas to get hit was Tacloban, Leyte. This project tackles the situation of Tacloban, Leyte 7 months after the typhoon. In the midst of rebuilding what once was all swept away, tremors of the typhoon can still be felt through the people.
